Why I Chose Greg and Bob as My Succession Partners

For many years, one of my highest priorities has been ensuring that my clients and their families would continue to receive financial guidance if I were no longer able to serve them. As I look toward retirement in the coming years, I have also wanted to create a clear and thoughtful transition plan that would allow my clients to experience continuity of service while preserving the value of the practice I have spent my career building.

With those goals in mind, I have intentionally sought out a team that shares my commitment to clients, aligns with my approach to financial planning, and possesses the resources and vision necessary to serve clients well for decades to come. After careful consideration, I chose Greg and Bob of Legacy Financial Services as the team I would trust to care for my clients in the event of an unexpected emergency and as the advisors best positioned to continue serving them when I eventually retire.

One of the practical advantages of this relationship is that we operate through the same broker-dealer. This significantly simplifies any future transition because it minimizes disruptions and paperwork for clients. My objective has always been to make any transition as seamless as possible, and this common platform helps accomplish that goal.

Another important consideration was long-term continuity. While Greg brings years of experience and leadership to the partnership, Bob represents the future of the practice. At only 33 years old, Bob has earned a degree in finance and earned the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation. He is highly knowledgeable, technologically savvy, and committed to growing the practice for many years to come. I was also looking for a team with the financial strength and organizational capacity to successfully execute a succession plan. Greg and Bob have built a thoughtful practice that is substantially larger than my own, giving them the resources necessary to support clients at a high level and the financial capacity to complete a future purchase of my practice when the time comes.

Equally important, we share a very similar philosophy regarding financial planning and client service. We approach the planning process in much the same way and tend to recommend similar strategies and solutions. This alignment helps ensure that clients will continue to receive advice that is consistent with the principles and standards they have come to expect from my practice.
Beyond professional compatibility, we simply work well together. We enjoy one another's company, communicate effectively, and have compatible personalities when it comes to serving clients. Those personal dynamics matter because successful long-term relationships are built on trust, respect, and genuine collaboration.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we share a common foundation of faith. Greg, Bob, and I are all followers of Jesus Christ. While their practice has historically expressed that faith differently than mine, they understand and appreciate the role faith plays in my life and in many of my client relationships. They have been open and supportive as we explore ways to incorporate those values into our collaborative efforts moving forward.

Ultimately, my decision to partner with Greg and Bob was based on much more than business considerations. It was the result of finding a team that aligns with my values, shares my commitment to serving clients, and possesses the experience, resources, and long-term vision necessary to provide continuity for the families I have been privileged to serve. I am excited about the opportunity to work together over the coming years as we gradually introduce our clients to one another and build a foundation for a successful future transition.
